Bank of England increases interest rates for first time since July 2007
The Bank of England has increased interest rates from their record low of 0.25% to 0.5%. Interest rates have been set at 0.25% since August 2016.
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), who set interest rates, voted 7 – 2 to increase rates.
