Jane Austen may appear on banknotes
Sir Mervyn King (the outgoing governor of the Bank of England) has announced author Jane Austen may replace Charles Darwin on the £10 note.
He announced the news while speaking at the end of his final appearance as governor. He said the final decision would be down to his successor Mark Carney.
Jane Austen is perhaps better known as the author of Pride And Prejudice, Sense And Sensibility and Emma.
