UK inflation rate rises to 2.9% in June 2013
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) measure of inflation rose to 2.9% in June, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Europe isn’t working
Unemployment in the Eurozone hits a new record high. The seasonally-adjusted unemployment figures show that from March to April 2013 an extra 95,000 people were out of work in the 17 countries that use the euro.
Nearly 1 million over-65s are still working
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show the number of people aged over 65 in employment in the UK reached a record level of 980,000 in the first quarter of 2013.
